From a four-year-old’s first exam to the checks that matter at seventy
Children from about age four or five, with a frame wall built for playground wear and first contact lens fittings around ten to twelve. Adults who need the prescription right and the eye health checked properly. Seniors watched for glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataract. Contact lens wearers, including hard-to-fit eyes. Patients with diabetes who need the annual retinal exam their physician asked for.

We accept most vision and medical plans, including VSP, EyeMed, Superior Vision, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare, Cigna and Tricare. CareCredit financing is available and cash is welcome. Coverage varies by plan, so pricing is quote-based. Call and we will check your plan before you come in.
One thing worth knowing: a routine vision exam and a medical eye visit are often billed differently, and which one applies depends on why you are being seen. We will tell you which it is when you book.

Are you open on Saturdays?
Yes. We are open Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, which is when a lot of the working and school-age appointments land. We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM, and closed Wednesdays and Sundays.

How much is an eye exam?
Pricing is quote-based, because what you pay depends on your plan, your benefits and what the visit turns out to involve. We do not publish figures we cannot stand behind. Call us with your insurance details and the front desk can usually tell you in a minute.
How old should my child be for a first exam?
We generally see children from about age four or five for a first full exam, earlier if you or your paediatrician have a specific concern. First contact lens fittings usually happen around ten to twelve. More on children’s eye care and pediatric eye exams.
Do you do LASIK?
We do not perform LASIK surgery here, but we handle the co-management around it — the evaluation beforehand and your follow-up care afterwards, with the surgery itself done by the surgeon. See LASIK co-management.
Are you a chain?

How long does an appointment take?
A comprehensive exam runs about 30 minutes with the doctor, and it is not compressed to fit more appointments into the day. Allow extra time if you are choosing frames afterwards, or if your eyes are being dilated.
Can I be seen the same day for an eye emergency?

Do I need an appointment to look at frames?
No. Walk-ins are welcome if you want to browse the frame wall or have a pair adjusted. An appointment is only needed for an exam or a contact lens fitting.
