Do gas-permeable lenses hurt at first?
There's an adaptation period. A rigid lens feels present for the first few days - you know it's there - and then it settles as your eyes get used to it. We coach you through that stretch, and if it turns out a rigid lens isn't right for you, we'll tell you straight rather than push it.
Can you fit me if my eyes are complicated - surgery history or an unusually shaped cornea?
We fit rigid GP lenses for demanding, standard prescriptions. Eyes with an irregular cornea sometimes need a specialty rigid lens that falls outside our scope - in that case we'll tell you honestly and refer you. If you've had LASIK or cataract surgery, we handle your contacts as co-management, working alongside your surgeon.
Is the fitting covered by insurance?
A contact-lens fitting is often billable. We accept most major vision and medical plans - VSP, EyeMed, and Superior, plus medical plans like Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, and Tricare - and we're glad to help you check your coverage before you come in.
